Peter Lacey Photographic ExhibitionSunday 11th July - 10:00 am Pier Head, Killaloe
This collection of Peter Lacey’s photographs were recently donated to Killaloe-Ballina Local History Society. Displayed where Peter taught the local children to swim in the 50s and 60s, this offers a brief insight into the life of this incredible man. If you wish to see the complete collection, visit www.killaloeballinalhs.wordpress.com.
Peter came to Killaloe around 1928. He was an orphan in Dublin and was sent down here to work on a farm. He established himself as a painter and decorator and, more importantly, as the man who taught 100s’ if not 1000’s of local children how to swim. He was also a keen photographer; this is only a small selection of his photographs.
