The Uí Bhriain (O’Briens) of Thomond and the Gaelic Recovery of the late Middle Ages

This talk examines how economic, social and political shifts allowed the O’Briens, descendants of Brian Boru, to throw off the yoke of English lordship and reshape Irish politics during the fourteenth century.
